Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 4 June 2026

These terms govern the contract between you and us (Faringdon Removals) when you book a mobile self storage service through faringdonremovals.co.uk. If you book, you accept these terms.

1. Who we are

Faringdon Removals is a trading name of J Blades, a sole trader registered in the United Kingdom. Trading and depot address available on request. We are VAT and ICO registered — registration numbers available on request. Contact: bookings@faringdonremovals.co.uk.

2. The service

We provide two mobile self storage services within a 30-mile radius of SN7 7SS (Faringdon, Oxfordshire):

  • Basic — Mobile Self Storage: we deliver an empty storage pod to your address on the morning of your chosen date, you load it through the day, we collect by 6pm and store it at our depot.
  • Premium — Collect & Store: our crew and van come to your address on the morning or afternoon of your chosen date, load your items into pods, and take them to our depot.

Both services include ongoing weekly storage rent (billed every 4 weeks) until you book a return delivery to bring the pod back to you. The service does not include packing materials, dismantling fitted furniture, removing fixings, removal of items prohibited under section 5, or onward delivery to addresses outside our 30-mile service area.

3. Placing a booking

A booking is placed by completing the online booking form, paying the collection fee plus the first 4 weeks of storage rent in full by card via Stripe, and confirming acceptance of these terms. A contract is formed only when we confirm your booking by email and your payment has cleared.

4. Pricing and payment

Our prices are fixed and include VAT at the prevailing rate. Full pricing on the pricing page. Payment is taken in full at the time of booking. Initial payment = collection fee + first 4 weeks of rent. After that, your card is automatically charged every 4 weeks until you cancel the subscription and book your return delivery. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay and Google Pay via Stripe. We do not take cash and do not take payment on the day.

5. What you can and cannot store

You may store: household goods, furniture, personal effects, business archives, equipment, clothes, books, kitchenware, garden furniture and similar.

You may not store:

  • Living things (people, animals, plants)
  • Perishable food or drink
  • Cash, jewellery, share certificates, passports, or other high-value documents
  • Firearms, ammunition or weapons of any kind
  • Illegal drugs or illegal substances
  • Flammable, explosive, toxic or otherwise hazardous materials (including paint, fuel, gas canisters, fireworks)
  • Wet, damp or mouldy items
  • Counterfeit goods or stolen goods
  • Any item you do not own or have permission to store

If we discover prohibited items, we reserve the right to refuse collection, suspend storage, dispose of the items at your cost, and/or notify the relevant authorities.

6. Your responsibilities

  • You are the owner of the items, or have the owner’s permission
  • The delivery/collection address is accurate
  • You will be present (or someone authorised by you) during the agreed slot
  • Your driveway can accommodate a trailer of approximately 8m × 3m (Basic) or a van of similar footprint (Premium)
  • You have declared any access issues at booking
  • Items going into the pod comply with Section 5
  • You have brought any high-value items, documents and irreplaceable items indoors before collection

7. Our responsibilities

  • Deliver the pod (Basic) or attend with crew (Premium) during the agreed slot
  • Send a text 30 minutes before arrival
  • Carry insurance against fire, theft and damage to the pod and contents while in our care
  • Store the pod at our SN7 7SS depot in dry, alarmed, CCTV-monitored conditions
  • Take all reasonable care of your items
  • Deliver the pod back to your address on the booked return date

Slots are AM (08:00–13:00) or PM (13:00–18:00 — Premium only), or whole-day (08:00–18:00 — Basic).

8. Storage rent, billing and cancellation

The first 4 weeks of storage rent are paid upfront with the collection fee. After that, your card is charged every 4 weeks (28 days), automatically, via Stripe.

To cancel storage: (1) log into your customer account and book a return delivery, (2) pay the return delivery fee, (3) your subscription is cancelled with effect from the return delivery date, (4) any whole unused weeks remaining in your current 4-week cycle are refunded to your card within 5 working days. We do not refund partial weeks. Minimum initial term: 4 weeks.

9. Failed payments

If a recurring 4-weekly payment fails, we retry three times over 14 days and email you each time with a link to update your card. After three failed attempts your account moves to “on hold”, depot fees of £5/day begin to accrue, and if unpaid for 90 days from the first failed payment we may exercise our rights under the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977 and the Storage Act 1986 to sell or dispose of your pod contents to recover unpaid fees. We will write to you at least 28 days before any disposal.

10. Insurance and liability

We hold goods-in-transit and goods-in-storage insurance covering fire, theft and damage. Insurance covers items in the pod up to a default value of £5,000 per pod included in your rent. Higher-value cover is available on request.

Our total liability is limited to the lower of (a) the insured value of the items affected, or (b) the actual replacement cost. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

We are not liable for: loss or damage to items prohibited under Section 5; loss/damage caused by inadequate packing by you (Basic); pre-existing damage; items being wet, damp, mouldy or hazardous; damage caused by your property (e.g. floors giving way); indirect, consequential or special losses; loss of profit, opportunity, business interruption or sentimental value; loss of digital data on stored devices.

11. Variations and additional charges

Where access is materially different from what was declared, we may quote an access surcharge in writing before completing the collection. We do not impose additional charges without first agreeing them with you in writing.

12. Returns and re-deliveries

You may book a return delivery at any time via your customer account or by email. Return delivery fees mirror collection fees (see pricing). You may also request mid-storage access — we collect the pod back to depot the same day for a single return-fee charge.

13. Force majeure

We are not liable for failing to deliver, collect or return on the agreed date where the failure is caused by events outside our reasonable control (severe weather, road closures, vehicle breakdown, industrial action, fuel shortages, public-health restrictions, acts of government). We will reschedule to the next available slot at no extra charge.

14. Privacy

Your personal data is handled in line with our Privacy Policy.

15. Complaints

Email bookings@faringdonremovals.co.uk with your booking reference. We aim to acknowledge within 2 working days and respond fully within 30 days.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking is the version published at the time the booking was placed. Material changes will be notified by email.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales, save that nothing limits a consumer’s right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where the consumer lives.
